Problem

When using an active finger print reader equipped with new laptops, TelePACE immediately shutdowns. This is experienced when:

1. Configuring a new TelePACE project and adding modules to the register assignment

2. Modifying and exiting the register editor screen.

3. Attempting to edit the element configuration within a function blocks in an application.

A warning may be return by Windows indicating that "Telepace has encountered a problem and must be shutdown"

There may also be a problem trying to modify the controller serial port settings. Indicated in the image below, various fields may be scrambled with unrecognizable settings.

Environment

TelePACE 3.23

Fix

A quick solution to this problem is to disable the fingerprint scanner and delete the Protector Suite QL Ver 5.8 software. This will resolve the issues outlined above and TelePACE will execute correctly.
