ClearSCADA

Systems running on servers should use server operating systems such as Windows Server 2003. Server operating systems are designed for servicing entire systems rather than individual computers or small networks and so are better suited for larger ClearSCADA systems with more than 5 clients.

Systems running on desktop computers should run desktop operating systems such as Windows XP. Desktop operating systems are designed for user interaction on the computer on which they are installed.

Windows XP should not be used for servers with more than 2 clients as the TCP/IP security measures in these operating systems can cause significant delays.
